Notes Before Use
4. Notes Before Use
4.1 Suitable cookware and its use
Only use cookware that is suitable for induction
(with a base made of electrically conductive, magnetic material)
to ensure unrestricted and safe operation of the hob.
When purchasing, look for an appropriate marking
(e.g. as shown coil symbol or similar).
General rule:
Magnetic cookware is also suitable for induction.
 Inductionsuitabilityofcookware
The proportion of magnetic metal particles varies with
different cookware.
The higher this proportion, the higher the efficiency
when heating by induction and the better the proper func-
tion is guaranteed, as well as the automatic recognition
of cookware (See relevant sections under "Features..."
and (General operation...").
E.g. cookware made of stainless steel, aluminium or cop-
per is mostly not or only conditionally usable, if it does not
have a special composition suitable for induction.
Also cast iron containers with uneven bottoms
or induction cookware of inferior quality can impair the
function, e.g. also aluminium pots with glued-on magnetic
base plate or cookware whose base consists of different
materials (see illustration).
  G eneralinformationonhigh-qualitycookware
The metal base of cookware expands when heated.
This is why the bottom of good cookware is never
completely flat when cold, but slightly curved inwards
(concave), so that it lies flat on the cooking surface after
heating and enables efficient heating.
