3.2 Face seal replacement
Face seal removal:
• Pull the rear face seal section over the adjustment screw.
• Remove the headband from the helmet by unlocking it from the anchor-
ing holes of headband holders.
• Carefully pull the face seal over individual pins arranged on the perime-
ter of the helmet shield.
• Progressively remove the plastic rim of the face seal from the anchor-
ing holes of the headband holders located on the inside perimeter of
the helmet.
Putting the face seal on:
• Attach the plastic rim of the face seal by snapping it on the lowest an-
choring holes of headband holders located on the inside perimeter of
the helmet.
• Fit face seal holes carefully over individual pins arranged on the hel-

IMMEDIATELY AFTER ITS REPLACEMENT TO AVOID ITS REUSE!
3.3 Replacement of protective plates for CA-40
We suggest using protective plates to protect the auto-darkening filter and
the visor of the grinding shield. Timely replacement of protective plates
extends the service life of the auto-darkening filter and visor and ensures
continuous good view.
Protective polycarbonate plate is supplied to protect the auto-darkening
filter. The plate is applied from both sides (outside and inside) of the au-
to-darkening filter and prevents from the deposition of welding spatter on
the auto-darkening filter.
External protective plate replacement:
• Remove the protective plate by pulling its lower part in the area of weld-
ing shield indent.
• Before placing the new protection plates, always remove the thin pro-
tection layers from both sides.
• Insert the protective plate in the side grooves in the area in front of the
auto-darkening filter.
Inside protective plate replacement:
• Remove the auto-darkening filter by releasing the retaining spring in-
side the welding shield and pull it out.
• Slide out the worn protective plate from fixation grooves.
• Apply new protective plate by sliding it back in the fixation grooves in
the auto-darkening filter.
• Insert the auto-darkening filter back in the welding shield and secure it
by the retaining spring.
CAUTION!
DO NOT CLEAN PROTECTIVE PLATES DRY; IT MAY EASILY
CAUSE THEIR SCRATCHING AND REDUCED TRANSPARENCY.
PROTECTIVE PLATES CAN CONCENTRATE ELECTROSTATIC
CHARGE; THEREFORE, CHANGING THE PLATES IN A DUSTY
ENVIRONMENT MAY DETERIORATE THE VIEW!
3.4 Welding filter replacement
• Release the retaining spring of the welding filter inside the welding
shield.
• Remove the welding filter.
• Insert the new welding filter and secure it in its original position by the
retaining spring.
THE HOOD SHALL BE USED WITH APPROVED WELDING FILTERS
OF 90 × 110 MM ONLY!
4. Maintenance, cleaning and disinfection
Safety helmet CA-40 is a complete system consisting of a hard hat, grind-
ing/welding shield or their combination, and a headband. Lifetime of the
helmet is influenced by many factors such as: cold, heat, chemicals, sun-
light and electromagnetic radiation in general or incorrect use. The helmet
should be checked on a daily basis of possible breakage, fragility or dam-
age of its structure.
4
If any damage is found, the helmet must be replaced
with a new one! After five years of use, it is always
necessary to replace the helmet!

Cleaning and disinfection

• After each work, clean the head section, check individual parts, and re-
place damaged parts.
• Cleaning must be performed in a room with a good ventilation. Avoid in-
halation of harmful dust deposited on individual parts!
• For cleaning, use warm water (up to +40 °C) with soap or other
non-abrasive detergent, and a soft brush or cloth.
• It is prohibited to use cleaning agents with solvents.
• After cleaning individual parts, it is necessary to rub them dry, or let
them dry at room temperature.
• To disinfect parts, which are in contact with the skin, regular prepara-
tions may be used, e.g. Ajatin, Incidur, etc.
• Auto-darkening welding filter may be cleaned with a fine, dry or slightly
moistened cloth (in clear water, soap solution or alcohol).
