●
Press the laser switch button (
●
Laser generator starts to emit red crossed lines visible on the material.
●
Set the point where laser lines cross on desired spot by moving adjustable laser tip (
●
Drill in the point where laser lines cross.
●
Switch the laser off when drilling is finished.
Dust arising from drilling may reduce intensity of laser beam, therefore it is necessary to clean the
generator from time to time. Never look directly at the source of the laser beam, never point the laser
beam at any person.
Use drill press only when:
●
Drill press is in good technical condition.
●
Drill pressed is used properly and according to instruction manual.
●
All protective parts are installed and they are ready for operation.
DRILLING HOLES
Set appropriate spindle rotational speed before starting to work. It depends on drill diameter and type of
processed material.
When drilling it is necessary to firmly fix the material to avoid the situation, when it is caught by drill.
●
During operation, belt transmission casing (
●
When drilling a hole with large diameter, it is recommended to drill hole with smaller diameter first and
then ream it to desired diameter. It prevents overloading the drill.
●
When drilling deep holes drill gradually to smaller depths, then slide the drill out of the hole to remove
chips and dust.
●
If a drill jam occurs during drilling, turn off the drill press immediately to prevent its damage.
●
Work table should be centred in the axis of drilled hole. Keeping the drill perpendicular to the surface
of the processed material is highly desirable. If a drill is not kept perpendicular to the surface during
operation, it may get jammed or broken in the hole.
Long lasting drilling at low rotational speed of the spindle may cause motor overheating. Make
periodic breaks in operation. Do not cover ventilation holes in the motor case.
COOLING
Drilling friction may cause strong heating of working tool edge. Cool the working tool with appropriate
coolant to reduce friction and improve drill cutting edge durability and thus better results and working
efficiency.
Handy drawer (1) for equipment and drills is located in the drill press base.
Unplug the power cord from the mains socket before commencing any activities related to
installation, adjustment, repair or maintenance.
TENSION ADJUSTMENT OF SPINDLE RETURN SPRING
When increase or reduction of spindle return spring (17) tension is needed:
●
hold the wheel to lower/lift the spindle (
●
loosen and unscrew nuts (
●
Gently slide the cover of spindle return spring from the catch (
-
clockwise – to increase spring tension,
-
counter-clockwise – to reduce spring tension,
●
slide the cover of spindle return spring back in its place (ensure the protrusion is placed in the catch),
●
tighten the securing nuts (
DRILL CHUCK REMOVAL
● Lift the drill chuck guard (19).
●
Turn the wheel to lower/lift the spindle (
●
Turn the drill chuck (
5) with your hand and position spindle groove next to the groove on the spindle
sleeve.
