8.1.1) Power dissipation
Before using the interface blocks it must be ensured through calculation that the current to be
transmitted does not exceed the power dissipation. For this, use the formula:
P = I² * R * Number of pins
If, for example, the test probes of the type SB-x-SI-170-4A-N with 1.5 A should be used, the num -
ber of pins is 170; the resistance is 0.01 so the calculation is:
P = (1.5A)² * 170 * 0.01
The result is P = 3.825 W, the expected power loss is thus within the permissible range of max. 5
W (cf. Table).

Do not store interface blocks unprotected outdoors or in a humid environment.
