45 Troubleshooting

Error List and Solutions
Main board temperature sensor not
detected or does not respond.
Check cables and connections in local
area network.
Data aquisition or single scan cannot
be executed when the instrument is
not validated.
Manual validation cannot be executed
during lamp ignition. Wait for the
deuterium lamp to finish the initializa-
tion process, then continue.
Manual validation can not be exe-
cuted while deuterium lamp is off.
Switch on the lamp. If the error occurs
again, restart the device.
If the error message re-appears,
replace the lamp.
Validation failed due to integration
time exeeding limits. If the recom-
mended operating time of the lamp
has been exceeded. Replace the deu-
terium lamp.
If the flow cell is dirty. Clean the flow
cell.
Finally, if the optical system is faulty.
Inform the KNAUER Technical Sup-
port.
Manual validation cannot be executed
when no deuterium lamp is present.
RS-232 communication disrupted.
Timeout: RS-232 (5 s), Leak sensor
(0.5 s) or hardware component (lamp
power supply, EEPROM, I2C with GUI)
communication failure
Correct command, disruption during
communication (not currently active).
Restart the device. If the error occurs
again, replace the lamp.
