6.2 Analog measuring instruments

Voltmeter with phase-reversing switch (S1)
ammeter.

6.3 Fault indication

6.3.1 Acoustic fault indication
An acoustic alarm will sound if fire pump fault indications
accumulate in the controller. To switch off the horn, press button
S4 (horn off).
Indicator light H4 (fire pump fault) will remain illuminated until the
cause of the fault has been corrected.
6.3.2 Visual fault indication
If a unit is manually switched off, the blue indicator lights H3, H6,
H9 and H12 will illuminate.
The yellow indicator lights H4, H7, H10 and H13 will illuminate if
one of these faults occurs:
The motor protection relay has been triggered.
The mains supply monitor has detected a disturbance.
One of the contact monitoring modules has detected a short-
circuit or wire breakage.
6.3.3 Test of indicator lights
To test the function of the indicator lights, press button S5.

6.4 Potential-free signalling contact

If a component in the controller detects a change, a potential-free
signalling contact will generate a fault indication or indicate a new
operating condition. These indications can be seen on the control
panel and/or in a superior fault centre. See the wiring diagram.

7. Controller versions

The controller is available in two versions:
with monitoring module (WM)
without monitoring module (WOM).
Both versions indicate the operating status of the fire pump by
potential-free signalling contacts.

7.1 Controller with monitoring module

Monitoring modules for mains supply monitoring as well as for
pressure switch wire-breakage and/or short-circuit monitoring are
integrated into the WM version of the controller.
It is essential that a corresponding resistance module, WM1, is
attached to each pressure switch for this purpose.

7.2 Controller without monitoring module

Without the monitoring modules integrated in this version, no
potential-free signals will be given in case of phase or pressure-
switch failure.

8. Controller components

Depending on the controller version, the controller includes these
components:
Version
Component
Overvoltage protection device (option)
WM

Phase-failure relay

Monitoring module
WOM
Overvoltage protection device (option)

8.1 Overvoltage protection device

(Option)
The overvoltage protection device for the mains configuration
TN-S (L1, L2, L3, N, PE) diverts dangerous overvoltages to the
protective-earth conductor.
When the protection device has been activated, the red indicator
light will be on. Replace the corresponding module.
Fig. 3
Overvoltage protection device
The device consists of four individual modules. For TN-S
systems, these modules are individually interchangeable.
The device has a potential-free changeover contact which can
trigger the relay for fault indication.
8.1.1 Potential-free signalling
Potential-free signalling is by means of an NC-contact for
collective fault to a superior fault centre.
8.2 Phase-failure relay
(Only for WM versions)
The phase-failure relay monitors the three-phase mains supply
with neutral conductors. The operator can adapt the phase-failure
relay to the conditions of the supply network.
The device is designed for a rated voltage of
Note
250 VAC and a frequency of 48 to 63 Hz.
Functions
Adjustable threshold values
adjustable response delay
phase sequence and phase-failure monitoring
asymmetry monitoring with adjustable scale for divergence.
Operating modes
UNDER (U): Undervoltage monitoring
UNDER+SEQ (U+S): Undervoltage and phase-sequence
monitoring
WIN (W): Monitoring of the range between the min. and max.
thresholds
WIN+SEQ (W+S): Monitoring of the range between the min.
and max. thresholds and phase-sequence monitoring.
