6. Fault finding

6.1 Errors signalled by LED

The LED fitted to the terminal PCB can help identify faults. Its position is shown on
Diagram 7 on page 10. The table below shows how to interpret what is wrong for each
pattern of flashes.
LED Pattern
Regular flash each second.
On with short blips off.
Fast flash on and off or
irregular flash pattern.
Permanently on.
Two long flashes followed
by a short flash.
Fast double flash each
second.
Short blip each second.
Any other faults can only be rectified by returning the IRmax to Crowcon or authorised
service agent.

Detector Status Action
Healthy.
Detector in start- Wait 10 seconds.
up mode.
Supply voltage Ensure the IRmax supply voltage is
too low. correctly set. Ensure measurement
is made directly at the detector
terminals.
Power-cycle the IRmax, if fault
Fault, host or
i-module error. persists, return to Crowcon.
