Clamp holder (self-centering, special accessorie)
A) The support is fixed to the tire or removed from it by means
of the turning handles.
B) A spoiler adapter 1 987 009 A03N can be mounted on the
support; it is available as an accessory. As a consequence,
the sensor can be displaced downwards, so that the measu-
rements on vehicles are not hindered by low-lying spoilers.
Tighten the sensor on support B) by means of the locking
screw.
C) The rim diameter is adjusted by pulling out the turning handle.
If the diameter tallies with the rim, press in the turning handle
again.
4. Preparation of the wheel alignment
check
Drive the vehicle onto a wheel alignment platform. The front
wheels must be on turntables and the rear wheels on sliding
plates!

If available, the locks must be set on the turntables and
sliding plates before the vehicle moves onto the turnpla-
tes. Pull the hand-brake and do not put into any gear (in
case of automatic drive, set to „N").
4.1

Version without hub holes in the rims

Install the quick-clamping adapter on the wheels. To do so, first
make adjustments so that the three black plastic bolts are at the
correct distance, so that all three exactly touch the inside of the
rim horn.
The distance of the three bolts is adjusted with the turning handle
above the middle of the adapter. To unlock the adjusting mecha-
nism, the turning handle has to be pulled out somewhat.
After the adjustments have been made to the rim, please push it
back again to lock the adjusting mechanism.

Plastic bolt A) on rim horn
Place the two claws of the adapter to grip the wheel on its left and
right. Then, using the turning handle on the outside right of the
adapter, tighten the adapter on the wheel. The adapter must now
be joined firmly and free of backlash on the vehicle wheel and all
the three black plastic bolts must still touch the rim horn.
Carry out this procedure on all the wheels.
4.2

Version with 5 hub holes in the rims

First, insert the adapter pins 1 987 009 A04N in the suitable holes
on the rear side of the clamping holder.
The gauge that is a part of the set of pins helps in doing so. The
position of the diameter adjustment and the black plastic bolts on
the clamp holder have no role to play in this case.
Now, place the ready clamp holder on the rim and take care that
nothing gets bent and the adapter pins fit exactly into the holes
provided. Push the adapter completely inside, so that all the pins
have a good contact to the wheel hub. Place the two claws of the
adapter to grip the wheel on its left and right. Then, using the
turning handle on the outside right of the adapter, tighten the
adapter on the wheel.
The adapter must now be connected to the car wheel without any

backlash and without dangling or tottering in any way.
Carry out this procedure on all the wheels.
