in accordance with standards applicable in your
installationsituation(e.g.IEC60204-1:2019-06),it
may be necessary to earth the system. This
applies in particular when using non-water-misci-
bleoils,flammableorexplosivecoolants.
Connect the protective conductor to the elec-
tric-pneumatic adapter with earthing hole (avail-
able as an option) and to all metallic parts of the
unit that could come into contact with the electri-
cal supply.
Be absolutely sure that all units are connected to
the same protective conductor.
There must be electrical contact between the
adapter and the screw connection of the pro-
tective hose. Otherwise, the screw connections
must be earthed separately (e.g. when using Tef-
lon tape). If a metal tube is used, it must also be
earthed separately.
We recommend earthing the metallic parts inde-
pendently of the environment and the coolants
used.
Replacement kit for S and S2

Replacement kit for third-party
devices
It is essential to read the instructions related
tothisretrofitkitinthechapterSealingairsupply.
Therearemanymanufacturer-specificinstal-
lation variants of third-party devices, some of
which are bespoke designs. The list of connection
variantsgivenbelowisnotexhaustive.Ifyoucome
acrossadifferentvariant,itisstillusuallypossible
toconnecttheRotoclear S3inafewsimplesteps
byadaptingthecableroutingtothespecificsitua-
tion. In cases such as these, it is advisable to have
the work done by specialist maintenance person-
nel.
The following options are available for connecting
a unit that is being used to replace a third-party
unit (e.g. Visiport):
Replacing the supply line
Replace the supply line of the third-party unit with
the standard supply line provided with the Roto-
clear S3:
A connection cable set containing all the
necessary parts is available for this purpose. Pro-
ceed as described in the section Installation with
protective hose. This is the recommended con-
nection variant.
You can continue using the supply line of the
third-party unit.
With an existing flexible protective conduit, the
optional accessory "M16 to G1/4 adapter" or the
"tubefitting"canbeusedforfixtubes.
Installationwithflexibleprotectivehose
 ScrewtheM16toT1/4"adapterintothecon-
nection box (Fig. 7-F) of the Rotoclear S3 until
hand tight and then tighten it by no more than a
quarter turn. The adapter is sealed by the fitted
Usit ring seal.
