Components
AllRotoclearS3versionsconsistofthestatorand
rotor components. The main difference between
the versions is the different types of installation.
The standard packages contain the components
suitable for the respective installation case.
Stator
Thestatoristhefixedpartofthedevicethatcon-
tains most of the motor elements, as well as the
bearings and the connection interfaces for the
sealing air and the electrical supply. The stator is
identical in all versions.
Rotor
The rotor, also called the rotating window, contains
a magnetic ring and is therefore part of the motor.
There is a magnet in the rotor. Beware of the

magnetic forces if you have an active medical
implant. Keep a minimum distance of 20 mm
between the implant and the rotor.
Therotorisavailableindifferentversions:
The standard variant of the rotor contains a win-
dow made of tempered safety glass. This variant
is recommended for normal conditions and for
minimum quantity lubrication.
The variant with a coated disk also contains a win-
dow made of hardened safety glass, which is addi-
tionally provided with a non-stick coating (Roto-
coat coating). This rotor generally ensures a much
longer clear view, as it clogs slower and at the
same time enables faster cleaning. The service
life of the outer rotor ring is the same as that of the
standard rotor. This variant is particularly recom-
mended if mainly aluminum is machined.
Please note that the rotors achieve the best
results when used as recommended.
The rotor should be cleaned at regular inter-
vals. It is a wearing part and can be reordered sep-
arately and easily replaced. Please refer to the rel-
evant chapters on installing the rotor and the
information on maintenance and operation.
Before installation, make sure that the mag-
net of the rotor is free of metal chips.
Mounting accessories
RotoclearS3canbeinstalledinseveralways.The
most common installation methods are gluing or
screwing. The required accessories are included
in the respective standard packages.
Please note that the screw version may not
be used in all machines. Please refer to the sec-
tion "Use of screw and bonding flanges" in the
"Introduction"chapter.
With the bonding version, a distinction must
be made between installation on a laminated
safety glass window and on a polycarbonate win-
dow.Pleaserefertothechapter"Mountingbond-

Special packages are available for the replace-
ment of old Rotoclear models such as Rotoclear S
and Rotoclear S2 or for the replacement of third-
