ROTOCLEAR S3
The results show:
The impact resistance of the test specimen
(in line with DIN EN ISO 16090-1 Machine Tool
Safety – Machining Centers, Milling Machinery,
TransferMachinery)wasnotaffectedwhenscrew-
mounted and bonding flanges were used in mill-
ing machinery. This supports the presumption of
conformity that use of either mounting method
is permissible in machining centers and milling
machinery under standard-compliant conditions.
The impact resistance of the test spec-
imen (iaw. DIN EN ISO 23125 Machine Tools –
Safety – Lathes) was not influenced when adhe-
sive-mounted flanges are used on lathes. This
supports the presumption of conformity that the
use of adhesive-mounted flanges is permitted
in lathes under standard-compliant conditions,
whereasuseofscrew-mountedflangesisnot.
Please note that Rotoclear S3 can nevertheless
influence the impact resistance of the window
on workspace enclosures of machinery. Machin-
ery manufacturers are required to provide a risk
assessment as proof that the impact resistance of
the workspace enclosure employed meets appli-
cable standards. Parties operating a retrofitted
RotoclearS3arerequiredtodemonstratethisvia
a risk assessment.
An application-specific risk assessment is
required before using the Rotoclear S3 in met-
al-cutting machines that are not covered by DIN
ENISO16090-1andDINENISO23125(e.g.grind-
ing machines). Impact resistance must be proven
individually by the operator or distributor of the
respective machine tool.
Optimizations by the manufacturer
The product is subject to a continuous optimiza-
tion process. At the manufacturer's discretion,
changes may be made to the geometry, connec-
tions, and interfaces which do not change the
basic concept of the product. The manufacturer is
under no obligation to actively inform customers
about non-functional adjustments to the product.
