Functional description
4.7.3
Flushing/Manifold
Flushing with water after each product metering action prevents contact between the
products in the metering lines. This reduces the risk of a chemical reaction between
alkaline and acidic products.
Indicating the metering lines in operation offers further benefits. Problematic products are
not routed via the manifolds, but instead use separate lines which are flushed separately.
4.7.4
3-way valves
The 3-way valves are required to calibrate (parameterise) the pump output.
At the same time, they can be used to shut off (prevent chemical backflow) the metering
lines during maintenance and repair work on the pump line in the pump rack. Excess
pressures that result on the pressure side, e.g., due to line constrictions, can be relieved
through these ball valves.
4.7.5
Pressure relief valves
Pressure relief valves (multifunctional valves) prevent unacceptably high pressure build-
up in the metering lines in case of a blockage, and route the excess product into the
collecting tray (separately for acidic and alkaline products) until the control unit stops the
metering action.
4.7.6
Pulsation attenuator
Optional pulsation dampers for applications using 80 or 120 l/h pumps reduce pressure
pulses in the context of high metering volumes, thus protecting the pipeline system.
4.7.7
Product monitoring
The flow signal generators (optional) disable the metering pumps in the event of
corresponding malfunctions.
4.7.8
Non-return valve in the water solenoid valve block
Every solenoid valve in the valve block has an integrated non-return valve to prevent the
flow of product into the solenoid valve components designed only for water and into the
fresh water line.
4.7.9
Wall fastening
To prevent the Pump Rack tipping, the stand is fastened to the wall.
4.7.10
Splash guard
A splash guard, which is detachable for the purposes of maintenance, prevents injury in
case of leaks in the unit.
