Cutting ledges
Turn the fence extension of the universall fence by
90° so that the lower workpiece guide surface faces
the saw blade. Adjust lengthways so that its rear end
is located opposite to the middle of the saw blade.
Feed in the workpiece with the push block until the
end of the workpiece is at least beyond the riving
knife / splitter.
Make sure that long pieces will not drop at the end of
the table top when the cut is advancing or termi-
nated. If necessary, prepare some kind of table
extension.
Partial cuts (rebates)
Remove the upper saw guard (see paragraph 4.1).
Push down the riving knife / splitter to the lower posi-
tion. Ensure good workpiece guidance. To do this,
clamp the universal guide fence to the right side of
the table (see paragraph 4.6). Press the workpiece
firmly onto the table (to avoid the risk of unintention-
ally executing a dropped-in cut). Arrange the cutting
sequence so that the strip cut is ejected on the side
of the saw blade facing away from the fence exten-
sion.
When rebating has been finished
replace the upper saw guard again!
Partial cuts (grooves)
Remove the upper saw guard (see paragraph 4.1).
Push down the riving knife / splitter to the lower posi-
tion. Ensure good workpiece guidance. To do this,
clamp the universal guide fence to the right side of
the table (see paragraph 4.6). Press the workpiece
firmly onto the table (to avoid the risk of unintention-
ally executing a dropped-in cut).
When grooving has been finished
replace the upper saw guard again!
Cutting tenons and slots
Remove the upper saw guard (see paragraph 4.1).
Push down the riving knife / splitter to the lower posi-
tion. Clamp the universal fence to the right side of
the table (see paragraph 4.6) and set it to the dimen-
sion of the slot or tenon to be cut. Feed in the work-
piece with the push block, using the right hand to
prevent the workpiece from falling over; do not hold
on to that side of the workpiece which is facing the
saw blade.
When cutting tenons or slots has
been finished replace the upper saw
guard again!
