In Germany, extractors tested for the
extraction of wood dust are specified.
Safe compliance with air pollution limits
(2 mg/m
) is ensured only if the machine
3
is connected to a tested extractor unit
(such as an industrial vacuum cleaner or
a combination unit).
When using the machine outdoors or on well-venti-
lated premises, the dust bag, available as an
optional accessory, can also be used if working for
short periods. Note that the bag must be emptied at
the latest when it is 75 % full (ensure dust-free dis-
posal of oak and beech sawdust).
If wooden splinters are inside the lower saw guard or
if the extractor connection is obstructed with chips
see paragraph 7 (troubleshooting).
3.4
Switch
Before switching on the machine,
make sure that the necessary safety
equipment is fitted for the relevant
cutting operation and in good condi-
tion.
Also check that the saw blade is cor-
rectly mounted and that there are no
objects in its immediate vicinity.
The push buttons for switching the machine on and
off are located on the front panel.
To switch on the machine:
• Press green button 12 (Fig. 9 - page 4).
To switch off the machine:
• Press red button 11. An automatic brake will stop
the saw shaft in less than 10 s.
After work is finished and for transportation the
mains cable should be reeled up around the outside
of the die-cast handles 13.
3.5
Overload protection
If the motor protection responds, this
always indicates that the motor is over-
loaded. The cause must be located
and the fault eliminated.
If the motor is overloaded, the speed of the motor
will automatically be reduced, or in the event of
power failure the motor switches off automatically.
The machine can be switched on again once power
has been restored.
3.6
Saw blade selection
When selecting the saw blade, make
sure that no blunt or damaged blade
is fitted.
Use saw blades with a bore diameter
of 30 mm and with a diameter
between 250 mm (9 27/32 in.) and
240 mm (9 7/16 in.) only.
The carbide-tipped saw blade with
(9 27/32 in.), 40 alternating teeth, included in the
delivery specification is suitable for rip and cross
cuts in solid wood and for cutting uncoated particle
boards, plywood and similar material.
The following TCT saw blades are available as
optional accessories for cutting other materials:
Cutting coated boards:
250 mm (9 27/32 in.), 60 alternating teeth
Cutting aluminium profiles:
250 mm (9 27/32 in.), 68 flat and trapezoidal teeth
3.7
Speed selection
To get an optimal quality of cut in the different materi-
als to be cut, the saw blade speed is infinitely variable
from 1900 to 3800 rpm. To change the speed use the
rotary switch on the terminal box of the motor.

Please consider that an optimal quality of cut
depends not only on the speed but also on the saw
blade. Recommendations for the suitable saw blade
are given in paragraph 3.6.
