Use as pull or inverted radial arm saw
This mode of operation offers the particular advan-
tage of easy and precise sawing of securely posi-
tioned workpieces with a max. cutting length of
423 mm (16 5/8 in.) and a thickness of 16 mm
(5/8 in.), e.g. panels. The workpiece is placed along
the fence extension 14 (Fig. 9 - page 4) of the multi-
purpose guide fence 15. After pressing the red
unlocking-button 16, the saw assembly is released
and can be pulled forward with handwheel 17 and
pull rod 18 until the workpiece has been cut through.
On completion of the cut, the saw assembly returns
to its initial position and is automatically locked in
place.
3.9
Use as circular saw bench - push saw
Rip cuts in large workpieces are made with the circu-
lar saw bench configuration. For this purpose, the
saw assembly must be positioned at the appropriate
location on the table. To do so, turn locking-
button 24 (Fig. 8 - page 4) to the right and pull the
saw assembly forward until it locks automatically in
position.
The multi-purpose guide fence 15 is used as a paral-
lel fence. Depending on the workpiece dimensions,
fence extension 14 can be used with its high work-
piece guiding surface or turned round by 90° and
used with its low guiding surface 25.
When reverting to the pull or inverted radial arm con-
figuration, turn locking-button 24 to the left. The saw
assembly returns automatically back to rest position.

Machine adjustments
4.1
Change of saw blade
Always pull out the mains plug before
changing the saw blade.
Do not fit saw blades that are
cracked or otherwise damaged.
Use only saw blades with a diameter
of 240 mm (9 7/16 in.) to 250 mm
(9 27/32 in.).
Do not use HSS saw blades or
blades with a bore diameter other
than 30 mm.
Make sure that the saw blade being
mounted is properly sharpened since
this is the basic requirement for per-
fect cuts.
Proceed as follows to change the saw blade:
• Pull out the mains plug and set the saw blade to a
cutting height of about 20–25 mm (3/4 – 1 in.)
(see paragraph 4.3).
• Loosen wing screw 2 (Fig. 2 - page 3) at the
upper saw guard 1 by approx. 5 turns to the left.
Push in the wing screw and remove the saw
guard upward.
• Tip over the machine sidewards so that the left
side is easily accessible.
• Press locking-button 31 (Fig. 10 - page 4) in front
of the lower saw guard, take out Allen key 32
(SW 6) from its support 33 at the lower saw guard
and unscrew hexagon socket head screw 34 by
turning it clockwise.
• Pull off front saw blade flange 35 and remove the
saw blade.
• Insert saw blade.
• Push flange 35 onto the two-face shaft and
tighten the hexagon socket head screw 34 by
turning it counterclockwise with the Allen key.
• Check that the saw blade is running properly by
rotating it by hand.
• If necessary, adjust the setting of the riving knife /
splitter (see paragraph 4.2).
• Remove Allen key 32 and fix it in its support.
• Replace the upper saw guard 1 (Fig. 2 - page 3)
in horizontal position - with wing screw pressed
down - on top of the riving knife / splitter and
make sure that the shank of the wing screw - once
released - has firmly enganged with the bore of
the riving knife / splitter. Position the saw guard as
desired and retighten wing screw 2.
4.2
Riving knife / splitter adjustment
Before adjusting the riving knife /
splitter always pull out the mains
plug!
The riving knife / splitter prevents the saw kerf from
closing behind the saw blade when making rip cuts
and thus rules out workpiece kickback.
This function is ensured only, however, if the riving
knife / splitter is correctly adjusted, i.e. if its clear-
ance to the saw blade cutting edge does not exceed
5 mm (3/16 in.) through the entire cutting height (see
