Operating instructions
It is important that only sharp saw
blades are used, the riving knife /
splitter is correctly adjusted, and the
upper saw guard is lowered to a posi-
tion just above the workpiece being
cut. This is also important for the cor-
rect functioning of the upper extractor
connection. After switching on the
machine select the proper cutting
speed and wait before starting to cut
into the workpiece until the saw
blade has reached full speed (see
paragraph 3.7).
Place your hands flat on the work-
piece with the fingers closed, keep
thumbs close to fingers.
Whenever possible connect the machine to an exter-
nal chip extraction system, e.g. a small portable dust
extractor, to avoid obstruction in the chip and dust
collection system of the machine.
Further information on safe working is contained in
the following descriptions of individual operations.
The following operating instructions are
described at the example of the universal
guide fence. This operating instructions
can be applied to the multi-purpose
guide fence by analogy.
5.1
Table saw
Cutting wide workpieces
Use the universal guide fence as rip fence and set it
to the desired cutting width. Make sure that your
hand is in a safe position with the fingers closed;
keep thumbs close to fingers. Use only the right
hand in the vicinity of the blade when cutting off
small bits.
If the workpiece is in danger of becoming jammed
between fence extension, saw blade and riving
knife / splitter, reposition the fence extension with
the rear end opposite to the middle of the saw blade.
Cutting narrow workpieces
(width less than 120 mm / 4 3/4 in.)
Set universal guide fence as parallel guide fence to
the width of cut desired. Feed in the workpiece with
both hands, using the push stick in the vicinity of the
saw blade. Continue to push the workpiece through
until it is beyond the riving knife / splitter. With short
workpieces, use the push stick from the very begin-
ning. The push stick 6 (Fig. 5 - page 3) is conven-
iently located in a special mounting on the right or
left side of the machine.
