Pressure control valve for high and low pressure

The pressure control valve (Fig 1. Pos.16) contains two
oil chambers with various connection ports and threads.
The threaded spindle adjusts a valve cone lengthways.
The two oil chambers are separated if the spindle is
rotated in an anti-clockwise direction as far as the stop.
High oil pressure (6 MPa) can be decreased at the sup-
ply connection (14). If the threaded spindle is rotated
in a clockwise direction, both oil chambers are connect-
ed. The high oil pressure escapes to the low-pressure
section. Low oil pressure can now be increased at the
supply connection (14). If the spindle has been adjust-
ed accordingly, a pressure can be set between 0 and
600 kPa by means of an overflow valve which has been
specified for the pump which is to be tested (see test
manual for the particular injection pump).

Supplying the calibration fluid

The electrically powered calibration-fluid delivery pump
(1) is installed in the chassis of the test-bench housing.
The pump is switched ON with the switch (2) on the
control unit.

The calibration fluid is cooled by a heat exchanger (1).
The calibration fluid flows through the cooling pipes
and releases heat into the water which surrounds the
cooling pipes.
The proportional valve (2) supplies the required amount
of cooling water according to the temperature control-
ler (MGT or KMA, see relevant operating manual).
The connections for the cooling-water supply line (4)
and return line (3) are at the rear of the test bench.

The customer must install an oil separator in the
coolingwater drain.

The ON/OFF switch for the test oil heater is located on
the control unit (see section 3.5.2). The heater can be
switched on as required.
The calibration fluid is heated by an electric resistance
heater (1) which is installed in the calibration-fluid tank
(4). The heating-up time of the calibration fluid, e.g.
from 20 °C to 40 °C depends on the amount of calibra-
tion fluid in the tank. The average heating-up time is
approx. 10 min.
