Operation

WARNING – Risk of injury
If the hydraulic connection for the test
equipment and components has not been
made properly, test oil may escape under
high pressure or parts of the test equipment
may rupture during testing.
This can cause injury or material damage.
¶
Prior to switch-on, check that all hoses
have been properly connected to the
EPS 200 / EPS 205 and the component.
¶
Replace any leaking and defective hoses.
WARNING – Risk of hand injuries
Uncontrolled closing of the guard could lead
to crushing or injury of the fingers.
¶
Always close the guard by way of the
handle.
WARNING – Risk of burns from hot surfaces
Contact with hot components and the hot
test equipment (e.g. injection chamber) may
cause severe burns.

Allow the components and test equipment
to cool down.
¶
Wear protective gloves.

CRI test routine

Do not check any damaged and/or severely corroded
components.

Clamping and connecting CRIs is described in the
original instructions of the EPS 200 and EPS 205.
Procedure:
1. Clean the CRI.
i
Only attach the injection chamber to the CRI follow-
ing the "leak test".
2. Attach the CRI to the clamp.

To avoid twisting and premature wear, do not con-
nect the high-pressure hose directly to the CRI.
3. Connect the high-pressure hose with a connection
adapter to the CRI.
!
The connection adapter must be tightened to a
torque of between 25 Nm and 30 Nm. If the connec-
tion between the connection adapter and the CRI
is leaking, the screw coupling is not to be retight-
ened. In the event of a leak, unfasten the connection
again, clean the sealing surface, and re-connect the
connection adapter applying the correct tightening
torque.
4. Connect hose line 1 680 712 289 (see section 3.5.1)
with CRI-specific hose line (see section 3.5.2 to
3.5.5) to the return of the CRI and to the "test con-
nection for the return quantity".
