■ Replace the line trimmer head cover, aligning latches
with openings in the line trimmer head.
■ Press cover and line trimmer head together until both
latches snap into openings securely.
■ Install line as described in the next section of this
manual.
INSTALLING LINE IN REELEASY™ LINE TRIMMER
HEAD
(Fig. 2d)
■ Use a 2.4 mm diameter monofilament string.
■ Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire.
■ Cut one piece of string approximately 6 m in length.
■ Rotate the knob on the string head until the line on
knob aligns with the arrows on the top of string head.
■ Insert one end of the string into the eyelet located on
the side of the string head and push until string comes
out through eyelet on the other side.
■ Continue to push string through the string head until
the middle section of the string is inside the string head
and string outside the string head is evenly divided on
each side.
■ Rotate the knob on the line trimmer head to wind the
line.
■ Wind the string until approximately 20 cm remains
protruding from the string head.
■ Replace the spark plug boot.
ATTACHING THE HARNESS
(Fig. 2e)
■ Connect the latch on the harness to the strap hanger.
■ Adjust the strap hanger to a comfortable position.
NOTE: Always use the harness with your unit.
NOTE: To quickly release the product from the
harness, sharply pull the quick release tab.

BRUSHCUTTER

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury,
always stop the engine and remove the spark plug wire
before making any adjustments such as changing cutting
heads.
To remove the bump head
■ Remove the lower bump head, spool and bump knob.
■ Place the combination wrench through the slot in the
upper flange washer and the hole in the gear head.
■ Remove the spool retainer bolt.

GRASS TRIMMER TO
■ Remove the upper bump head from the drive
connector.
■ Place the combination wrench through the upper
flange washer and the gear head. Using the wrench
supplied, turn the drive connector clockwise to remove.
■ Remove the upper flange washer from the gear shaft
and retain for blade installation.
■ Use the combination wrench supplied to loosen all 3
bolts, then remove the grass deflector from the blade
guard.
NOTE: Store the bump head parts together for later
use.
To install the blade
■ Place the upper flange washer over the gear shaft with
the hollow side towards the blade guard.
■ Centre the blade on the upper flange, making sure
the blade sits flat. Install the cupped washer with the
raised centre away from the blade. Install the blade
nut. The blade turns counterclockwise from the
operator's position.
■ Place the combination wrench through the slot in
the upper flange washer and the hole in the gear
head. Using the wrench supplied, turn the blade nut
counterclockwise.
■ Tighten the nut securely.

To remove the blade
■ Place the combination wrench through the slot in the
upper flange washer and the gear head. Turn the
blade nut clockwise to remove.
■ Remove the cupped washer and the blade.
■ Remove the upper flange washer from the gear shaft
and retain for the bump head installation.
■ Attach the grass deflector to the blade guard and align
the 3 screws on the grass deflector to the screw holes
on the blade guard.
■ Using the combination wrench supplied, tighten all
bolts securely.
NOTE: Store the brushcutter parts together for later use.
To install the bump head
■ Install the upper flange washer onto the gear shaft with
the hollow side towards the gear head.
■ Place the combination wrench through the slot in the
upper flange washer and the hole in the gear head.
Using the wrench supplied, turn the drive connector
counterclockwise to install. Tighten securely.
