The torch neck coupling is the interface to the torch neck: The coupling passes on
the welding current, as well as all incoming leads, to the torch neck.
The cover is used
- to protect the wire drive from mechanical and thermal influences
- to prevent contact with the wire drive during the welding operation
The wirefeed drive transports the welding wire to the welding location at a defined
speed.
Joining point between drive unit and hosepack
The hosepack is used to connect the Robacta Drive CMT to a CMT wirefeeder. The
hosepack contains all the leads required to operate the Robacta Drive CMT and for
the CMT welding process.
The electronics box contains:
- The control elements for the wirefeed, wire retract and gas checks
- Connectors for the motor, LHSB and the robot cut-out box
- The status LED
- The RDIO 30 A PCB
The motor housing contains the CMT drive motor and the shaft encoder
NOTE! Do not open the motor housing. The shaft encoder must be set up at an
FTS test station. The motor and the shaft encoder must only be serviced by
Fronius at plant 319.

The optional gas nozzle touch sensor detects when the gas nozzle touches a
workpiece.
An AC supply of approx. 30 V is applied to the gas nozzle. If the gas nozzle touches
the workpiece, the short-circuit between the gas nozzle and the tool is measured.
The optional wire-value sensor calculates the actual wire speed value in m/min
using a smooth measuring roller.
