6.1 Planning
6.1.1 Installation conditions
General requirements
• Make sure that the product is installed in a manner that protects it from all
types of mechanical loads.
Product-specific requirements
• Mounting orientation. See
g 14. Technical
• Compressed air specifications. See
• Recommendation: Use oil-free compressed air.
• When using oiled compressed air (not recommended):
– Maximum oil content. See
– Only use oils approved for AVENTICS products.
– Make sure that the oil content remains constant during the entire service
life of the product.
– Never change from oiled to oil-free compressed air.
Ambient conditions
• Let the product acclimatize for a few hours before installation. Otherwise wa-
ter may condense in the housing.
• Keep the installation location free from vibration.
• Protect the product from direct sunlight and UV radiation.
6.1.2 Required accessories, materials and tools
Mounting material
For ED07:
• 4x screws M5x90
For ED12:
• 4x screws M6x70
If you use AVENTICS mounting material, see the online catalog for the relevant
data if it is not listed in the documentation.
Important information for assembly:
• Dimensions
• Tightening torques: ED07: 5 Nm, ED12: 8 Nm
6.2 Preparation
6.2.1 Unpacking and checking the product
1. Check the material number to see if the product matches your order.
2. Check the product for transport and storage damage.
Do not install a damaged product. Return damaged products together with
the delivery documents. See
3. Prepare required accessories, materials and tools.
6.2.2 Notes
• If the housing ventilation port is closed, there is no atmospheric equalization
and the characteristic curve will change. Ensure that the housing ventilation
port is open and that the air can circulate freely through the housing ventila-
tion port.
• Insulate the wire ends against each other. When the supply voltage is
switched on, there is a risk of short circuits if open wire ends touch each other.
6.2.3 Preparation for PLC configuration
A GSDML file (General Station Description Markup Language) file is required to
configure the PLC.
• File name: GSDML-V2.43-AVENTICS-02B5-PNS-EDXX-REG3-CATALOG-
JJJJMMTT.zip
• JJJJMMTT (YYYYMMDD) represents the date of issue.
Procedure
1. Download the current GSDML file via the QR code on the product. See name
plate on the product or
g 1.2 Additional
2. Load the GSDML file in the configuration program for the PLC.

documentation.
6.2.4 Implementing safety measures
Procedure
1. Do not carry out any work on the system during preparation.
2. Close off dangerous areas.
3. Make sure the system or system part is not under pressure or voltage.
4. Protect the system against being restarted.
5. Allow product and adjacent system parts to cool down.
6. Wear PPE.
6.3 Inserting the gasket
Fig. 2: Inserting the gasket | ED07
9 Mounting pins
1. Place the gasket (11) on the underside of the product so that the three pneu-
matic openings are not covered.
2. Apply slight pressure to the gasket (11), so it is fixed on the three mounting
pins (9).
The three mounting pins ensure that the gasket is placed correctly on the con-
tour of the pneumatic openings.

10 Base plate gasket
3. Insert the base plate gasket (10) in the respective slots on the bottom.
4. Apply slight pressure to the base plate gasket (10).
6.4 Mounting the product
Fig. 4: Assembling the pressure regulator on the base plate
1. Always mount the product on a base plate (single subbase or base plate for
stacking assembly).
2. Mount the base plate in a control cabinet or on a mounting plate.
