Damage due to control network malfunction
Products with Ethernet connection are designed to be used on specific industrial
control networks. Observe the following safety measures:
• Always follow industry best practices for network segmentation.
• Avoid exposing products with Ethernet connection directly to the Internet.
• Minimize internet and business network exposure for all control system de-
vices and/or control systems.
• Ensure that products, control system devices and/or control systems are not
accessible from the Internet.
• Locate control networks and remote devices behind firewalls and isolate them
from the business network.
• If remote access is required, only use secure methods such as Virtual Private
Networks (VPNs).
NOTICE! Recognize that VPNs and other software-based products may have
vulnerabilities. A VPN is only as secure as the connected devices it serves. Al-
ways use the current version of the VPN, the firewall and other software-based
products.
• Ensure that the latest released software and firmware versions are installed on
all products connected to the network.

4 Transport and storage
4.1 Transporting the product
Hazards during transportation
• Proceed with caution and observe the information on the packaging when un-
loading and transporting the packaged product to the destination.
• Take steps to avoid damage when lifting the product.
4.2 Storing the product
Damage due to incorrect storage
Unfavorable storage conditions can result in corrosion and material deteriora-
tion.
• Only store the product in locations which are dry, cool, and prevent corrosion.
• Protect the product from direct sunlight and UV radiation.
• Keep the product in its packaging until the time of installation.
• Also observe any additional storage information on the product packaging.
Compressed air connections
• Ensure that all compressed air connections are protected against contamina-
tion by protective caps.
• Tape open compressed air connections or provide them with suitable protec-
tive caps.
4.3 Returning the product
• Before returning the product: Get in touch with our contact address. See back
cover.
• Observe the storage conditions until such time as you return the product.

5 Product description
5.1 Brief description
The product is actuated via an Ethernet-based fieldbus (PROFINET). Both cyclic
data (set points, actual values, ...) and acyclic data (parameters, ...) can be ex-
changed via the interface.
Thanks to the integrated data recording and diagnostic functions, the product is
suitable for IIoT and predictive maintenance applications.
The product can be used to carry out the following tasks:
• Continuously control pressures
• Read in analog process values
• Perform cascade control
• Switch a digital output, e.g. control an additional switching valve
• Read in a digital input
• Read out and change parameters
• Record data
The product can be used as an actuator or as a process controller to control brake
forces, clamping forces, flow rates, or turbine speeds.
5.2 Labeling and identification
Product identification
The ordered product is clearly identified by the material number. The material
number can be found in these locations:
• On the name plate.

This product complies with the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Di-
rective 2014/30/EU and its amendments. The product is labeled with CE
identification. The declaration of conformity is available on request.
Please provide the material number and serial number for the correspond-
ing products.
5.3 Warning signs on the product

The symbol is placed near a potentially hot surface.
Hot surfaces can cause burns.
• Do not touch the surface.
• If required, take protective measures against accidental contact.
