4.4 Spurgo aria

Questa operazione deve essere eseguita con steli
completamente estesi a forcella smontata oppure a forcella
installata sul motociclo con la ruota anteriore sollevata da terra
La pressione generata dall'aria che può penetrare all'interno
degli steli durante l'utilizzo può causare malfunzionamenti della
forcella. Questo è dovuto alla particolare confi gurazione degli
anelli di tenuta che trattengono l'aria all'interno degli steli.
Mensilmente o dopo ogni gara, è necessario scaricare l'aria
presente all'interno di entrambi gli steli.
Effettuare lo spurgo quando il SAG della forcella è inferiore
a quello impostato o la sospensione tende a diventare dura
nel funzionamento in seguito all'aumento del precarico
dovuto alla pressione dell'aria.
Per eseguire l'operazione è necessario disporre di un
piccolo cacciaspine.
La valvola per lo spurgo dell'aria è presente in entrambi gli
steli, sui tappi superiori.
Se la forcella non funziona correttamente o se si nota una
perdita di scorrevolezza, eseguire le seguenti operazioni:
•
Rimuovere il tappo di protezione (8).
•
Aiutandosi con un piccolo cacciaspine, premere sulla
valvola aria (9) e scaricare completamente la pressione
interna allo stelo.
•
Rimontare il tappo di protezione (8).

4.4 Bleeding the air

OTE
This operation must be carried out with the fork's legs fully
extended and fork dismantled or with fork installed on the
motorcycle and with the front wheel off the ground.
The pressure generated by the air that can get into the fork
legs while the motorcycle is being used and which, due
to the special shape of the sealing rings remains trapped
inside, can cause the fork to malfunction.
It is necessary to discharge the air in both fork legs monthly
or after every race.
Bleed the air when the fork leg SAG is less than that set
otherwise the suspension tends to become hard following
the increase in pre-load due to air pressure.
To carry out this operation you will need a small pin punch.
The air bleed valve is on the top caps of both legs.
If the fork is not operating at optimum levels, or if there is a
loss in the smoothness of the fork, please carry out following
operations:
•
Remove the protection cap (8).
•
Using a small pin punch, press on the air valve (9) and
completely discharge the internal pressure from the leg.
•
Refi t the protection cap (8).
