Explanation of panic functions B, C and E
Escape doors are equipped with
· Emergency exit locks in accordance with EN 179
· Panic door locks in accordance with DIN EN 1125
We differentiate between three panic function variants (page 90ff), which are
indicated with the letters B, C and E.

Basic function of doors with panic lock: A door with a panic lock can always be
opened with the door handle or the actuating bar from the inside, even if it is
locked. For SBP locks with handle control, the outside handle can also be connect-
ed electrically. These locks always have panic function C.
Panic door locks are subject to somewhat more stringent requirements than
emergency exit doors. Visible from the outside, panic door locks in accordance
with EN 1125 are equipped with an actuating bar or panic push bar (panic bar)
across the door leaf, emergency exit door locks in accordance with EN 179 are
equipped with a door handle.
