Explanation of terms

Description
The casing contains the coupling mechanism for a top locking device.
The spindle is a square pin which is guided through the follower and ends in
the door handle.
The lock case contains the locking mechanism.
The locking cylinder is installed in the locking cylinder cutout and screwed
into place with the cylinder fixing screw.
The plastic case contains the electronic components for controlling the
sensors (monitoring).
The face plate is screwed onto the door.
The locking cylinder is fixed in the lock case by the cylinder fixing screw.
The unlocking pin is only used in double-leaf doors for the release of the
blocked bolt.
The centres distance (also called "distance") is the distance between the
spindle hub centre and the keyhole centre (circle centre).
The backset is the distance from the keyhole centre to the front edge.
The rear backset is the distance from the keyhole centre to the rear edge.
The frame dimension is the distance between the latch and bolt.
The latch bolt throw is the length of the visible bolt.
The lock pocket is the recess in the door to hold the mortise lock.
The rebate gap is the distance between the faceplate and striking plate
(Fig. 3, "Technical data", page 96).
The striking plate is the counterpart to the lock installed in the door frame.
The door is opened with the door handle according to EN 179.
The door is opened with the panic bar according to EN 1125.
