Explanation of term
The lock is unlocked in a deenergised state.
The lock is locked in a deenergised state.
Doors with an Escape route door function can be opened at any time in the escape direction (usually from
the inside) using the door handle, even when the door is locked. The doors are equipped with an escape
route door fitting (e.g. a panic touch bar) in the escape direction.
The Interlock function enables the lock to be blocked electronically in an intruder situation.
The Intruder function allows the door handles on both sides to be decoupled and coupled independently
of one another (mechatronic intruder concept). Electrical control is executed from the inside or from an
external position. This can be used to create an externally controlled interlock situation during an
intruder alert.
When the Blocking function is activated, the lock is locked and cannot be unlocked by any opening
commands. Once the Blocking function has been deactivated again, the lock resets to the previously set
status, for example the Continuously open status.
The door handle in the escape direction (usually from the inside).
The door handle in the opposite direction to the escape direction (usually from the outside).
The Rebate gap is the distance between the faceplate and strike plate (Fig. 3).
The Trip latch controls the automatic self-locking mechanism process ("Self-locking function", page 49).
The Flip latch is released when the door is unlocked and then flips away so that the door can be opened
even when subject to a heavy pre-load.
The Bolt is always extended on a closed self-locking door. During Day mode, ("Daily operation",
page 50) the bolt is retracted by up to 5 mm and the flip latch is fixed.
The Cylinder screw mount is intended for fixing the locking cylinder into the lock case using a cylinder
screw.
The Faceplate is screwed to the door.
The Latch pin is a four-edged pin which is inserted through the lock follower and ends in the door handle.
The latch pin is also split in lock mechanisms with split lock followers.
The Lock case contains the lock mechanism.
The locking cylinder is installed in the Cylinder recess and screwed in place using the cylinder screw.
The Backset is the distance from the keyhole centre to front edge of the faceplate.
The Centres (distance) is the distance between the centre of the keyhole and the centre of the lock
follower.
The Deadbolt throw indicates how far the bolt can be extended.
