Putting into Operation
10.2

"Drive" Function

After switching on, the control is in speed level 1. Button 9 is used to increase the
speed level. After speed level 4, the control switches back to speed level 1. For driving
use the joystick 5. The further the joystick is moved away from the mid-position, the
faster the B600 power wheelchair will drive in this direction. The maximum speed with
full deflection of the joystick is dependent on the selected speed level. The
characteristics for speed, acceleration and deceleration can be adapted by the
healthcare provider to meet the individual user's requirements.
As soon as the joystick is released, the wheelchair is braked automatically until it
stops moving. When standing still, the mechanical brakes are automatically active so
the B600 cannot move.
If the drive function is not required, the wheelchair control must be switched off to
prevent uncontrolled driving trough accidental joystick manipulation.
10.3

Additional "Mode" Function

When the button M is pressed and held for approx. 2 seconds, the system will change
from driving mode to the additional functions. In the speed level indicator, each LED
stands for a certain additional function. To change between the different functions,
shortly press the button M or move the joystick to the right. To switch back to the
driving mode, again hold the button M depressed for approx. 2 seconds.

Lighting

Standard equipment of the B600 power wheelchair includes a lighting installation.
One halogen light and one front direction indicator are attached to the front frame on
the right and left side.
For user transfer to and from the side of the wheelchair, they can be folded away (with
standard seat) (fig. 15).
To protect the direction indicators against damage they are provided with rubber
bearings. Rear direction indicators and rear lights are integrated into the rear covering
(fig. 16).
The control panel is used to switch on and off the warning flasher, lights and direction
indicators.
For changing defective lamps, please refer to section "Maintenance and Cleaning".
