6. Wheel attachment and
removal
WARNING – Wheel slip!
Risk of crushing of fingers and other body
parts when attaching and removing wheel.

Wear protective gloves.
€
Wear safety shoes.
€
Do not place fingers between the wheel and
the shaft.
€
Heavy wheels should always be handled by
two people.

Wheel attachment

The wheel lift is controlled by way of the operating
unit keypad, refer to Section 7.4.
1. Switch on the WBE 4510 at the on/off switch.
2. Position the appropriate cone on the shaft (flange).
3. Manually move the wheel lift slide fully to the right.
4. Place a wheel on the wheel lift slide.
5. Fix the wheel in position by way of the operating unit
with the <HOLD> key.
6. Raise the wheel on the wheel lift by way of the
operating unit with the <UP> key until the axis of the
wheel is on a level with the flange axis.
7. Manually move the wheel lift slide to the left until
the wheel makes contact with the flange.
8. Position the wheel on the shaft at the cone.

9. Slide the (disengaged) quick-action clamping nut
onto the shaft and press firmly against the wheel.

Precise centering of the wheel on the cone is achie-
ved by turning the wheel counter-clockwise slightly
whilst securing.
10. Engage and turn the quick-action clamping nut in
clockwise direction until the wheel is firmly clam-
ped.

Wheel removal

1. Position the wheel lift slide beneath the wheel.
2. Turn the quick-action clamping nut counter-clockwise
and unfasten the wheel.
3. Disengage and remove the quick-action clamping nut
whilst supporting the wheel with one hand.
4. Move the wheel lift slide and wheel horizontally until
the wheel is on the right of the shaft.
5. Lower the wheel lift slide with the <DOWN> key.
6. Release the wheel with the <HOLD> key.
7. Remove the wheel.
