13. Fine-tuning of the transmitter
When you have made the basic adjustments, and have programmed the transmitter, you can
carry out the fine-tuning of the model.
a) Setting the digital steering trim
The digital trim enables you to precisely adjust the central position of the steering servo, i.e.,
you can adjust an absolute straight driving direction for your model.
To do this, have your model roll onto a straight and evenly smooth surface and do not carry out
any steering actions during the first test drive.
If the model pulls toward the left, set the DT1 button (see fig. 1, no. 3) for the digital trim to the
right. Repeat this procedure until your model moves on a precisely straight line. If the model
pulls to the right, trim it to the left.
Next to the servo steering display (CH1) and the two
direction arrows "L.F.U." or "R.B.D.", the percentage of
the set trim lights up in the display.
Five seconds after the last activation of a button, the
value you last set is saved and the display returns to the
operation mode display.
When you have determined the required value, adjust
the steering linkage until your model moves on a straight
line and the steering trim is back to "0" or a very small
correction value.
Out tip:
Your model car will move perfectly straight ahead if you set a slight toe-in. Adjust
the steering links in such a way that both front wheels turn slightly towards the
inside.
