13 Troubleshooting
The following overview contains information about possible faults and
measures to rectify these faults.
If faults that are not unambiguously described in these operating instructions
or that cannot be rectified with the described measures occur when using the
machine, do not use the machine and contact the dealer.
13.1 Machine faults
Fault
During initial start-up with
the water tank, the pump
is activated when the
brew lever is actuated but
no water comes out of the
brew group.
The machine does not
heat up during initial
start-up.
The machine is switched
on but will not start oper-
ation.
The machine is switched
on and draws air

Cause
Insufficient time for filling
the brew boiler.
If there is still no water
coming out after 50 sec-
onds, the system is com-
pletely dry and the pump
cannot pump the water.
The boiler overfill protec-
tion has been triggered.
The water tank has not
been installed correctly.
The machine is connected
to the mains water supply
but water tank mode is
activated
The water filter cartridge
is dry.
Water tank mode is acti-
vated, but the machine is
connected to the mains
water supply.
Solution
It takes about 30 seconds
for the brew boiler to fill
up and for water to come
out.
Connect the machine to
the mains water supply
(see Chapter 7.4, „Instal-
lation with mains water
connection") and carry
out initial start-up with
the mains water connec-
tion (see Chapter 8.2, „Ini-
tial start-up with mains
water connection"). Then
reactivate tank mode
(see Chapter 10.4.5, „Tank
Mode").
Briefly turn the machine
off and then on again.
Install the water tank cor-
rectly (see Chapter 11.5.1,
„Orientation of the water
tank")
Deactivate water tank
mode (see Chapter 10.4.5,
„Tank Mode")
Clean the water filter car-
tridge properly. Follow the
manufacturer's specifica-
tions for the filter used.
Activate water tank mode
(see Chapter 10.4.5, „Tank
Mode").
