9.9.2 Flush for rinsing the lines
A flush can also be used to rinse the lines of the brew group in order to remove
coffee residues. Proceed as follows:
1.
Place an empty receptacle under the brew group.
2.
Move the brew lever into the drawing position.
The drawing icon appears on the display and the lines are flushed.

Once the water coming out of the brew group is clean and clear, move
the brew lever back into the starting position.
The brew group has been flushed and the machine is ready to prepare

espressos.

Preparing espressos
WARNING
Risk of injury due to hot surfaces and hot liquids spraying out
During the extraction process, hot liquids may spray out and cause injuries
or scalding.
Injuries may occur due to the high temperatures of the brew group
• Only operate the brew group via the brew lever.
• Keep your face, hands, and other body parts away from the brew group.
• Use the cup raiser when preparing espressos.
Select the appropriate portafilter depending on the number of cups to be
brewed:
•
Portafilter with 1 spout: 1 cup
•
Portafilter with 2 spouts: 2 cups

If not yet installed, insert the relevant filter into the chosen portafilter
(see Chapter 9.7, „Inserting the filters in the portafilter").
2.
Fill the filter with the desired quantity of ground coffee.
3.
Press and compact the ground coffee evenly using the tamper (see
Chapter 9.6, „Pouring ground coffee into the portafilter and pressing
(tamping)").
4.
Insert the portafilter in the brew group (see Chapter 9.8, „Inserting the
portafilter in the brew group").
5.
Place an empty cup underneath each spout of the portafilter used.
6.
Move the brew lever into the drawing position (see Chapter 5.2.3,
„Operating levers").
