8.4 Perform calibration
CALIBRATION

During calibration, the EcoTrans II pH determines the pH value of two known calibration
solutions (buffers). The measured values are then adjusted to the value of the buffer
solution used.
Regular calibration of the unit (at least every 12 weeks) is required to obtain
accurate measurements.
However, the frequency of calibration depends on the following conditions and
must be determined for the specific location of use:
– Frequency of use
– Medium to be measured
– Contamination that occurs
If necessary, the interval for calibrating the unit must be adjusted accordingly.
Calibration is carried out in two steps. The buffer solutions to be used depend on whether
the unit is used to measure alkaline or acidic products:
n First calibration of the neutral measured value using a pH 7.00 buffer solution
n Second calibration of the measured value in the measuring range:
– Using pH 4.01 buffer solution for acidic products
or
– Using pH 9.21 buffer solution for alkaline products
