Safety instructions
Appropriate use
An espressoDAQ module with its connected sensors or transducers is to be
used exclusively for measurement tasks. Use for any purpose other than the
above is deemed to be non-designated use.
In the interests of safety, the module should only be operated as described in
the Operating Manual. It is also essential to comply with the legal and safety
requirements for the application concerned during use. The same applies to
the use of accessories.
General dangers of failing to follow the safety instructions
The espressoDAQ system is a state of the art unit and as such is failsafe. The
module may give rise to dangers if it is inappropriately installed and operated
by untrained personnel.
Any person instructed to carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance or
repair of the module must have read and understood the Operating Manual
and in particular the technical safety instructions.
Conditions at the place of installation
− Protect the module from direct contact with water.
− Protect the espressoDAQ system from moisture or weather conditions such
as rain, snow, etc. The protection class under the IP standard DIN EN 60
529, is IP20.
− Do not expose the module to direct sunlight.
− Comply with the maximum permissible ambient temperatures stated in the
specifications.
− The permissible relative humidity at 31

− The module is classified in overvoltage category II, degree of pollution 2.
− Install the module so that it can be disconnected from the mains at any
time without difficulty.
− It is safe to operate the espressoDAQ system up to a height of 2000 m.
