Electrical connections

System-side connection
The three system-side connections make up the back of the module.
The connector sockets are implemented as RJ45 sockets, each with 8 con-
tacts ( Section 8.1, page 43).
Significance of system-side connections:
 USB: connection and USB port of the PC
that simultaneously serves as
a voltage supply
for an individual module.
This RJ45 socket is coded.
Connection cable 1-KAB286-2
is coded to match.
 SYS OUT: Voltage supply for battery operation
 SYS IN: Voltage supply for battery operation
Each module is self-contained and uses a USB connector for the voltage sup-
ply, for exchanging data and for synchronization.
Transducer connections
Four transducer connections make up the front of the modules
( Section 8.2, page 46).
The connector sockets are implemented as RJ45 sockets with 8 contacts.
Sockets that are not in use should be closed with the protective caps provi-
ded, to prevent dirt collecting.
Transducers with RJ45 connectors can be connected to the sockets. RJ45
connectors for tool-free mounting are available as an option.
Module-dependent connections:
 Voltage ("10 V) / ("100 mV)
 Current ("25 mA)
 Thermocouples (with thermoadapters)
 Strain gage connection for full and half bridges
 Temperature sensor (1-wire technology; type: Dallas DS18B20)
