Motor-brake facility
Your construction circular saw is equipped with an
automatically functioning deadlock brake. The brake
starts functioning after switching off the motor. After
the motor is switched off, the saw blade must come
to a standstill after 8 - 10 seconds.
Note the following:
The Structo 5.0 − WE (230V) is equipped with an
electronic brake.
The Structo 5.0 − DR (400V) is equipped with a me-
chanical brake.
Important information
The electrical motor is made for operating mode S6
/ 40 % .
When the motor gets overcharged, it automatically
switches off. After a short cool-down period (time
varies) the motor can be switched on again.
Defective electrical power supply cords
Electrical power supply cords often suffer insolation
damages. Causes are:
• Pressure spots, when power supply cords are be-
ing led through windows or doors.
• Buckling spots by incorrect attachment or guid-
ance of the power supply cords.
• Cuttings by driving over a power supply cord.
• Insulation damages through pulling out of the sock-
et.
• Cracks in worn-out insulation.
Such defective electrical power supply cords should
not be used and are extremely dangerous because
of the insulation damage.
Check electrical power supply cords for damages on
a regular basis. Please observe that upon checking
the power supply cord is not plugged in. Electrical
power supply cords have to comply with the relevant
VDE - and DIN-regulations. Only use power cables
of the same designation. An imprint of the type de-
nomination is rule.
Alternating current motor
• The supply voltage should be 230 Volt/50 Hz.
• Extension cables must be up to 25 m long, have
a cross cut of 1.5 square millimetre, be over 25 m
long, and have a minimum 2.5 square millimetre.
• The power supply should be 16 A.
Rotary current motor
• The power supply should be 400 Volt/50 Hz.
• The power supply and the extension cables must
be 5-fold leads = 3 P + N + SL.
• Extension cables must have a minimum cable
cross section of 1.5 square millimetre.
• The power supply should be maximum 16 A.
• In case of connection to the power supply or mov-
ing site the rotary direction should be checked,
otherwise the polarity has to be changed (wall
mounted connector).
• Therefore screw the phase switcher into the plug
surrounding with a screw driver (see fig. 21).

Connections and repairs of the electrical equipment
should only be carried out by an electrical specialist.
In case you have further questions, please specify
the following:
• Motor manufacturer
• Current type of the motor
• Information of the machine type label
• Information of the switch type label
When sending back the motor, always return the
complete power unit with switch.

11. Maintenance and cleaning

Switch the motor off and pull the power plug before
doing any maintenance and cleaning work.
After servicing the machine, all guards and safety
devices must be refitted.
• The construction saw, including the electric motor,
are maintenance-free to a far extent. An exception
are the saw blades, table inserts and brake linings
of the electric motor (approx. 14,200 switching ac-
tions) that are subject to natural wear and tear. The
saw blade must stop within approx. ten seconds. If
necessary, the worn table insert must be replaced.
• Brake linings may only be replaced by specialists.
Service information
Please note that the following parts of this product
are subject to normal or natural wear and that the fol-
lowing parts are therefore also required for use as
consumables.
Wear parts*: Carbon brush, saw blade, batteries, ta-
ble liners, sliding stand, push handle, V-belts
* Not necessarily included in the scope of delivery.
Cleaning
Attention: Pull the power plug!
Wear gloves (risk of cutting).
• Always wear goggles for cleaning to protect your
eyes.
• Remove dust and dirt at regular intervals.
• Keep the protective saw blade box clean from
scrap wood and saw dust cloggings.
