7. Before commissioning

Unpacking the machine, fig. 2
m DANGER
The device and packaging materials are not toys!
Children must not be allowed to play with plas-
tic bags, film and small parts! There is a risk of
swallowing and suffocation!
1 Remove the hoops.
2 Remove the cover and side parts
3 Remove the enclosed parts and check the scope
of delivery for completeness:
- 1 longitudinal fence
- 1 stop rail
- 1 cap type plate
- 1 cross-cutting gauge
- 1 guard with riving knife
- 1 saw blade key
- 1 rest key
- 1 push stick
- 1 push handle
- 1 extraction port with closing plug
- 1 table length extension
- 4 foot caps
- Accessory pack with fixing parts
4 Check all parts for possible damage during trans-
port. In case of complaints the driver needs to
be contacted as soon as possible. Complaints
coming in later will not be recognized as such.
General instructions
• If possible, keep the packaging until the end of the
warranty period.
• Familiarize yourself with the machine by means of
the operating instructions before using it.
• In case of replacing worn or exchange parts, as
for accessories, only use original parts. You can
obtain exchange parts at the specialized dealer.
• Upon ordering, please specify our article nºs as
well as type and year of construction of the tool.

8. Assembly

For reasons of packing, your scheppach machine is
not completely assembled.
Assembly of the base, fig. 3 and 4
1 Fold up the front and rear supporting legs (10). Fix
each leg with hexagon bolts, washers and nuts
(a). Firmly tighten all the bolts.
2 Attach four foot caps (11).
3 Attach the extraction port (12) with four bolts,
washers and hexagon nuts.
4 Place the construction saw on its feet.
5 Mount the tool holder for push stick, push handle
and saw blade key on the right-hand leg (fig. 4).
Fasten the saw blade guard with riving knife, fig. 5
1 Put the assembled saw blade guard with riving
knife (1) from above in between the guide plate
and clamping plate.

2 Set the clearance between riving knife and saw
blade to 3–8 mm, and tighten the clamping plate
with four hexagon bolts and washers (b).
Assembly of the table length extension, fig. 6 and 7
1 Mount the table length extension (8) on both sides to
the table (13) with four hexagon bolts (c), four wash-
ers, and four nuts. Tighten the nuts slightly by hand.
2 Fold out the supporting bow (14) for the table
length extension and lock it on the table.
3 Adjust the table length extension as follows:
- Place a ruler across the sawing table and the
table extension.
- Adjust the height of the table extension and
tighten firmly the bolts on the sawing table (c)
and on the support (d).
Clamping device for longitudinal fence, fig. 8
Fasten the clamping device (3) for the fence to the
table top using two cheese-head screws M 6 x 30,
two washers and two nuts M 6.
Assembly of the fence, fig. 9
1 Screw the spacer plate to the fence with two sau-
cer-head screws M 6 x 50, two washers 6 mm,
and two wing nuts M 6. Do not tighten!
2 Insert the stop rail and tighten it.
3 Insert the fence into the clamping device.
Tighten = Raise clamping flap
Release = Press clamping flap down
4 Place the fence into the clamping device.
Position 1 = High fence surface
Position 2 = Low fence surface
Mount the cross-cutting gauge, fig. 10
1 Put a saucer-head screw M 8 x 70 from below
through the square tube into the cross-cutting
gauge and tighten with washer 8 mm and handle.
2 Set the swinging part (15) in the square tube at
a right angle to the saw blade using the hexagon
bolt (e). Use a right-angle gauge to this purpose,
and subsequently make a trial cut.
Crane bow, fig. 11
The two crane bows (6) are fitted diagonally to each
other. On the two crane bows, carrying belts can
be attached for supporting the machine on a crane.
Saw blade guard, fig. 12
• The saw blade guard is fitted ready for use.
• The saw blade guard is a protecting device and
must always be fitted.
• Make sure the guard always lies on the table top
by its own weight, but that the two bolts are tight-
ened without play.
Setting the riving knife, fig. 5, 13, 14 and 15
• The clearance between saw blade and riving knife
must not exceed 8 mm.
After every saw blade change check the clear-
ance and re-adjust, if necessary. The riving knife
tip must not be lower than the base of the upper-
most tooth.
