We recommend a maximum setting of 5 mm un-
derneath the upper sawing tooth tip.
If necessary, correct as follows, fig. 15:
1 Release the 4 hexagon bolts (f).
2 Adjust the riving knife.
3 Retighten the hexagon bolts (f).
The riving knife is an important protective device
for guiding the work piece and closing the gap
behind the saw blade, thus avoiding the kick-back
of the work piece.
Mind the thickness of the riving knife – see the
embossed figures on the riving knife. The riving
knife must not be thinner than the saw blade and
not thicker than the width of the cutting gap.
Fig. 15
The riving knife must be in line with the saw blade.
Correct any difference as follows:
1 Release two hexagon bolts (g) each on both sides.
2 Align the riving knife vertically.
3 Slightly tighten the hexagon bolts (g).
4 Adjust the riving knife in line with the saw blade,
and retighten the four hexagon bolts.
5 Check the clearance to the saw blade.
Note:
If, at switching off, the brake lacks efficiency, it must
be examined by a specialist or replaced. A defective
push stick must be replaced.

9. Implementation

Please read the safety information before implemen-
tation.
The implementation of the machine is only admiss-
able when protection and safety facilites have been
installed completely.
After connection to the power supply your scheppach
construction circular saw is ready to operate.
Longitudinal cuts, fig. 16
Use the fence for parallel cuts.
For working smaller work pieces (less than 120 mm)
use the push stick and the low fence side.
Attention: Do not use a defective or broken push
stick or push handle any more (risk of injury).
A defective push stick and push handle must be re-
placed by new ones.
Immediately dispose of any defective parts.
Cross cuts, fig. 17
Use the cross-cutting gauge for cross and angle
cuts.
It is ready for use by lifting it onto the saw table.
The setting scale reaches from 0° to 90°.
In order to achieve a precise cut, press the wood
against the fence surface when sawing.
When not used, lower the cross-cutting gauge at the
side.

Wedge-cutting gauge, fig. 18
The cross-cutting gauge is also used for cutting
wedges.
To this purpose, set the swinging part to 0° and fix it
with the adjustment handle.
Place the wood into the recess and saw it carefully
exerting a uniform pressure.
Switch off the machine and remove the wedges.
Caution: Feed the work piece only with your hand
on the cross-cutting gauge. Do not hold the work
piece by hand.
Changing the saw blade, fig. 19 and 20
Attention: Pull the power plug!
• Screw out the two upper bolts M 8 (h) from the
lower saw blade guard.
• Swing down the saw blade guard. Release the ten-
sion nut (M 20, left-hand thread) and fix it with the
holding key (fig. 20).
• Wear gloves to protect your hands.
• Remove the saw blade and fit a now one.
• Only mount a well sharpened, crack-free and not
deformed saw blade.
• Tighten the tension nut, fixing it with the holding
key (left-hand thread!).
• Raise the lower saw blade guard, re-insert the two
bolts M 8 and tighten them.
• After every saw blade change, the riving knife must
be adjusted anew (see Setting the riving knife fig. 5).

10. Electrical connection

The installed electrical motor is connected ready to
operate. The connection complies with the relevant
VDE- and DIN-regulations.
The power supply as well as the used extension ca-
ble should comply with these regulations.
Electromagnetic compatibility
The product fulfils the requirements of DIN EN 61000-
3-11 and may only be used at the following connection
points: This means that use of the product at any free-
ly selectable connection points is not allowed. Given
unfavourable conditions in the power supply the prod-
uct can cause the voltage to fluctuate temporarily.
The product is intended solely for use at connection
points that
a) do not exceed a maximum permitted supply im-
pedance "Z",
or
b) have a continuous current-carrying capacity of
the mains of at least 100 A per phase.
As the user, you are required to ensure, in consulta-
tion with your electric power company if necessary,
that the connection point at which you wish to operate
the product meets one of the two requirements, a) or
b), named above.
