D e p t h - o f . F i e l d S c a l e
The actual depth-of-field of a lens is shown by a scale shown on
the lens. For example, when a 50 mm f/1.4 rens is focused at 2
m and the aperture setting is f/16, objects at dislances between
the two "16" figures on the depth-of-field scale, in this case from
about 1.4 to 5 m will appear acceptably sharp to the unaided
eye.

Although the vieMinder of your Contax RTS ll euartz always
provides viewing at full aperture, depressing of this button stops
down the lens to the pre-selected aperture (the image in the
vieMinder will become darker), letting you see in advance whicn
parts of the scene will be in focus or blurreo.
o Avoid tripping the shutter while.depressing the depth-of{ield
preview button because it will cause exposure inaccuracv.
