RUNNING-IN
The recommendations below should be followed when
running-in:
I Before riding, run the engine at low revs until it has
warmed up. The amount of time needed will vary de-
pending on the external temperature.
I Do not exceed the rpm shown in the table; it is also
advisable to run the engine at varying speeds rather
than at a constant speed.
I Before stopping reduce the speed gradually to avoid
subjecting components to sudden changes in tempera-
ture.
I Remember that components need several thousand
kilometers before they are properly bedded in; care
taken in this period will ensure prolonged vehicle life.
BREAKING-IN RPM

After the first 500÷1500 km
I Change the engine oil.
Should the oil level drop to the minimum level before
the first 500÷1500 kilometers have been completed
then carry out a complete oil change rather than just
a top-up. Recommended oil:
«Agip 4T RACING SAE 5W/40».
I Replace gearshift lubrication oil.
I Replace transmission box lubrication oil.
I Check that all nuts and bolts are tight.
I Check tyre pressure levels.
