INSTALLATION
3.1
PLANNING: Plan your Fall Protection system before starting your work. Account for all factors that may affect your safety
before, during, and after a fall. Consider all requirements and limitations specified in these instructions.
A.
SHARP EDGES: Avoid working where system components may be in contact with, or scrape against, unprotected
sharp edges and abrasive surfaces. All sharp edges and abrasive surfaces should be covered with protective material.
3.2
PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION: Some procedures may need to be completed before the product is ready to be
installed.
A.
ASSEMBLING THE RESCUE DEVICE: The rescue device may require some additional assembly before use. See
Figure 5A for reference. To complete assembly:
;
The lifeline should be routed through the main pulley of the housing assembly before shipping. At most, the
user should only need to route the lifeline through the additional pulleys. Never remove the lifeline from the
housing assembly.
1.
Thread the lifeline through the top module. Complete a loop of the lifeline over each pulley within the top
module. The lifeline connector should be pointed down towards the lower pulley after assembly.
;
For product models that do not have a pulley within the top module, this step should be skipped. Simply
secure the top module to the housing assembly, then secure the Lifeline Connector (D) to the Anchor Eye (E).
2.
Secure the top module to the housing assembly.
a.
Press both buttons of the Locking Pin (A) to release, then slide it to its open position.
b.
Insert the top module. Place the module onto the Fixed Pin (B), then place it inside the housing assembly so
that the locking pin will slot into the opposite divot.
c.
Release the locking pin to secure it against the top module. Verify that the top module is secure and stays
within the housing assembly when shifted.
3.
Secure the lower pulley. Place the lower pulley onto the lifeline, then rotate the face plates of the pulley
assembly to align the connection eyes between them. Secure the pulley assembly by attaching its Connector (C)
through the two connection eyes on the bottom. Additionally, if your pulley assembly has connection eyes on top
of it as well, then secure the Lifeline Connector (D) through those upper connection eyes.
;
For product models with two lower pulleys, ensure that each pulley receives one loop of the lifeline.

B.
PREPARING THE BRAKE HANDLE: The brake handle must be prepared for use with the system before it can be
used. See Figure 5B for reference.
1.
Connect to an anchorage point. Secure a connecting subsystem (A) or some other means of restraint
between the brake handle and an anchorage point (B). The brake handle should be secured to a connector via its
connection eye (C).
;
Alternatively, the connecting subsystem may be used to secure the brake handle to an approved harness
attachment element.
2.
Secure the brake handle to the lifeline. Open the brake handle by pulling down the Locking Switch (D) and
Brake Lever (E) simultaneously. Hold the brake lever to keep the brake handle open, then insert the Lifeline (F)
through the open gap of the brake handle. Release the brake lever once the lifeline has been inserted and shift
the locking switch back to its locked position to secure.
;
The brake handle must be secured to the product's lifeline during use.
