Opening
When opening/closing, the module must be in place on the lid.
• Check that the cooking programme selector is in position

• Tilt the opening/closing handle from the horizontal position to the vertical
position (the jaws (O) move apart):
• Raise the lid.
Closing
• Place the lid vertically on the pan, making sure it is correctly positioned.
•Tilt the opening/closing handle from the vertical position to the horizontal
position: the jaws (O) close.

• Apply a slight force at the end of the stroke to trigger the locking mechanism.
• It is normal for the lid to rotate freely on the pan when in the closed position.
The jaws must be in contact with the edge of the lid. If you cannot close the lid:
• Check that the opening/closing handle is in the vertical position.
• Check that the seal is correctly fitted

USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
To familiarise yourself with Clipso
+Chef and to eliminate any impurities linked to

the manufacturing process (dust), we recommend that you cook for the first time
with just water.
Orient Clipso
+Chef so that the selector is facing you.
®
• Fill the pan to 2/3 full with water (MAX 2).
• Place the steaming basket in the pan.
• Close Clipso
+Chef.
®
• Set the programme selector (F) to "prog 4".
• Set the timer for 20 minutes.
• Place Clipso
+Chef on a heat source set to maximum power.
®
• At the 1 beep, the timer tells you to reduce the heat source. The cooking stage
begins.
• When the 2nd beep sounds, cooking is complete.
• Turn the selector to position

Do not try to force the lid open; make sure the pressure indicator is in the down
position.
• Clean the product and basket with washing-up liquid and a sponge.
Before cooking
Orient Clipso
+Chef so that
®
the selector is facing you.
• Before each use, check that the control module is correctly attached (use a coin).
Check that the release vent (A) is not blocked. If it is, rinse it under water. Check
that the operating valve (L) is movable.
• Check that the central part of the safety valve release (M) can be moved by
pressing on it firmly with a blunt object.
As with any cooking appliance, ensure that you are closely supervised when
using Clipso
+Chef near children.

• Determine the amount of water you need for your cooking, see "Minimum and
maximum fill".
• Add your ingredients and the liquid.
• Close your Clipso
+Chef.
®
• Set the selector to the desired cooking position
• Set the desired cooking time on the timer Fig.10.
• Make sure that your Clipso
+Chef is properly closed before putting it into service

Minimum filling
For cooking directly in the pan:
• Always add at least 250 ml of liquid.
For steaming :
• Pour 750 ml of water into the bottom of the pan.
• Place your steaming basket at the bottom of the pan.
If the Clipso
+Chef has heated up without any liquid inside:
®
• Have your Clipso
+Chef checked by an Authorised Tefal Service Centre.
