Service and maintenance

1.
The lifeline shall only retract under load. On no account may the lifeline be fully pulled
out and released because the karabiner hook jolting against the device may cause the
retraction spring to break

For devices that are constantly exposed to the weather, it is recommended to greas the
steel rope with acid-free oils or Vaseline at regular intervals.

Retractable connection elements made of para-aramid fibres (textile) may only be cleaned
with warm water or neutral cleaning agents. Never use thinner or similar. Any residues
from the cleaning agent must be rinsed out completely with clean water.

IKAR fall arrest blocks with recovery mechanism should be stored in dry, dust- and oilfree
condition in a suitable container.
5.
Components which have become wet during cleaning or use may only be dried natrally,
not near a fire or similar heat sources.
6.
Before using disinfectants, you have to contact the manufacturer due to the complex legal
product classifications based on the specific applications and constituents.

Accessories

Please note: In order to prevent a negative impact on the safe function of the fall arresting de-
vices, it is only permitted to use accessories approved by the manufacturer (e.g. rescue clamps
to DIN 19428:2018, protective covers, etc.). The manufacturer is not liable for any accidents
involving the life and limb of the user if using non-approved accessories.
