16.4 Kanada, ISED

IC: 25659-MMSINSPEC00
General Requirements for Compliance of Radio Apparatus
This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with
Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada's licence-exempt
RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause interference.
(2) This device must accept any interference, including interference that may
cause undesired operation of the device.
Information about Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)
This device is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for
exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Innovation, Science and Eco-
nomic Development Canada.
During SAR testing, this device was set to transmit at its highest certified power
level in all tested frequency bands, and placed in positions that simulate RF ex-
posure in usage near the body. Although the SAR is determined at the highest
certified power level, the actual SAR level of the device while operating can be
well below the maximum value. This is because the Device is designed to ope-
rate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required to reach the
network.
The exposure standard for wireless devices employing a unit of measurement
is known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit according RSS-
102, Issue 5, March 2015, is 1.6 W/kg for localized body regions head, neck and
trunk.
For this device, the highest reported SAR value for near the body is
0.014 W/kg. While there may be differences between the SAR levels of various
devices and at various positions, they all meet the government requirements.
The ISED has granted an Equipment Authorization for this model Device with all
reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with the RSS RF exposure gui-
delines. You will find SAR information in the Health Canada's Safety Code 6: Li-
mits of Human Exposure to Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Energy in the Fre-
quency Range from 3 kHz to 300 GHz (https://www.canada.ca/en/health-cana-
da/services/health-risks-safety/radiation/occupational-exposure-regulations/
safety-code-6-radiofrequency-exposure-guidelines.html).
