Main "Settings" Function

The main funktion "Settings" enables interventions in
the system configuration.
Malfunctions with unforeseeable effects on safe
operation can arise from settings that are not
permissible or unsuitable for a specific end terminal.
Settings that have an effect on safe operation are
protected with passwords. They are only allowed to be
changed by experienced or specially trained personnel.
The standard password [
passed on to authorized users and the service password
[ separate notification] may only be passed on to
authorized service employees and administrators.

General Information

The DCU system provides various functions for system
maintenance and the elimination of faults via the
main function system settings ("Settings"):
•
General settings such as date, time, fault waiting time
or "Failtime", parameterization of the communication
with external devices ("Internet Configuration").
•
Specification of process values ("PV") and their ranges
or limits.
• Manual operation, e.g. of digital and analog inputs and
outputs or controllers, for the simulation.
•
Service function, e.g. for system reset or for selection
of the system configuration, insofar as multiple
configurations are implemented or enabled.

Functional Elements of the Main "Settings" Menu

Key, Symbol Meaning, Use
The system settings ("System
Parameters") enable general
settings on the DCU system.
System parameters: Editing of the
time and date values is only
possible up to 10 min. after
system start
Setting of process value ranges
Only authorized personnel
(service technicians) are allowed
to make settings in this menu.
Calibration of the temperature

For function tests during
commissioning and for
troubleshooting faults, the digital
and analog process inputs and
outputs, controller and digital
counters can be switched to
manual operating mode ("Manual
Operation").
Settings in manual mode have
the highest priority; they have
priority over the other functions
on the associated control
elements of the DCU system.
Changes to settings are to be
carried out solely test purposes
upon consultation with the
technical service department.
