Introductory Notes
This Operating Manual for the Incubator Shaking
Cabinet CERTOMAT ® Tplus refers to the design and
equipment features of this device at the date of print
given with the Rev.No.. The information included in
this Operating Manual has been carefully estimated
and checked. However, no guarantee can be given
with respect to completeness and correctness of this
information. Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH reserves
the right to modify the equipment and to change this
operating manual without notice.
Due to the continuous development of the units it

or their use are not described. There may be

With the Statement of Conformity, which is attached
or which accompanies the equipment, Sartorius
Stedim Biotech GmbH confirms the conformance of
the CERTOMAT ® Tplus with the specified guidelines.
Intended Use
Incubation shaking cabinets are power-driven
machines (acc. to BGR 500 Chap 2.11 Part 3) in which
liquids or nutrient solutions are shaken with cultures
of biological origin and which are kept at a selected
incubation temperature and, hence, are also only
intended for this purpose. Any other or further use is
considered to be unauthorized. Sartorius Stedim
Biotech GmbH does not accept liability for any
damage resulting from unauthorized use.
Authorized use also includes:
− paying attention to all instructions from the
operating manual and
− adherence to service, cleaning and maintenance
regulations.

General Safety Notes
Laboratory seniors or the persons responsible for the
use of the equipment must inform the personnel about
potential risks of operating the CERTOMAT ® Tplus.
Furthermore they have to guarantee that the relevant
safety instructions are observed. The personnel must
have the necessary qualification for the operation of
the equipment and its handling.
Please take special care regarding the operating
information. Improper use of the unit can thus be
avoided and you retain full claim for guarantee. Please
contact us if you have any questions.
Steps to be carried out with special care or special
aspects or special issues to be considered are marked as
this paragraph.
Important safety notes in this manual are marked with
this symbol. Such instructions apply in addition to the
other safety instructions for the field of application and
for the working place.

Guide through this Manual
This Operating Manual is organized systematically.
Depending on your knowledge of the device you can
start from the beginning or go directly to the chapter
of your interest.
Chapter 1
provides an overview of the construction and design of
the CERTOMAT® Tplus.
Chapter 2
provides information on the requirements regarding
the placement of the device. In addition, it describes
the installation and connection as well as equipment
configuration, loading and mounting of trays and
universal assembly systems.
Chapters 3 to 11
give information on the commissioning and operation
of the device as well as information on measures for
operational malfunctions. If you are already familiar
with the device and it has been installed and is ready
for operation, you can go directly to this part of the
manual.
Chapter 12
contains technical data and ordering information. This
chapter includes information on optional equipment
and the range of accessories for the shaker in
particular.
