Engine oil level

In four stroke engines, the engine oil is
used to lubricate the timing elements, the
bench bearings and the thermal group.
An insufficient quantity of oil can
cause serious damage to the engine.
In all four-stroke engines, a loss of effi-
ciency in oil performance and consump-
tion should be considered normal.
Consumption can particularly reflect the
conditions of use (e.g.: while riding, the
use of the vehicle with the throttle grip
mainly open implies higher oil consump-
tion).
In order to avoid problems, it is advis-
able to control oil level every time the
vehicle is used.

Every time the vehicle is used, visually
inspect the level of the engine oil when
the engine is cold (after completely un-
screwing the oil cap/dipstick). The oil
level should be somewhere between the
MAX and MIN index marks on the level
rod; «A»; while the oil is being checked,
the vehicle must be resting on its centre

stand on an even, horizontal surface.

Nível do óleo do motor
Nos motores 4T o óleo do motor é utili-
zado para lubrificar os órgãos da distri-
buição, os suportes de banco e o grupo
térmico. Uma quantidade insuficiente
de óleo pode provocar graves danos
ao próprio motor. Em todos os motores
a 4T, a perda das características do óleo,
assim como um certo consumo, devem
ser considerados normais.
Em especial, os consumos poderão de-
monstrar o efeito das condições de uso
(ex. durante a marcha, a utilização do
veículo com o manípulo do acelerador
prevalentemente aberto implica um mai-
or consumo de óleo).
Com o objetivo de prevenir qualquer
inconveniente, recomenda-se verifi-
car o nível do óleo toda vez que se
utiliza o veículo.
Verificação do nível do óleo do
motor (03_01, 03_02)
Todas as vezes que se utiliza o veículo,
com o motor frio, deve ser efectuada a
verificação do nível do óleo do motor,
(depois de remover a tampa/vareta da
posição completamente aparafusada)
que deve estar compreendida entre as
referências de MAX e MIN indicadas na
vareta «A»; durante a verificação o veí-
