Note! The AutoPlate Coating coating unit is only approved for an RSP grid sheet
with millimetre scale with a stuck-on tool (processing rules or flexible die)! The use
of a register flexible die is not planned for this coating unit and this (alternatively: a
register flexible die) may not be used!
Note! Only purpose-matched base plates and grid sheets may be used for the
AutoPlate Coating coating unit! Base plates and grid sheets from the former XL 105/106
series cannot and may not be used!
Use of a grid sheet
Note! Unclamp the coating plate before installing the grid sheet (the procedure can
be found in the instructions for your printing press) and select "Inline finishing for
the coating unit" in the control system!
• Position the coating cylinder
• Press the "Select control point" button twice in quick succession. The LED in the
button comes on. The control position has been selected.
• Open the cylinder protection by hand.
• Press the "Positioning" button (Fig. 1). The machine rings.
• Press the "Positioning" button again. The coating cylinder rotates into the clamping
position.
• Press the "Open/close clamping bar" button (Fig. 2).
• Fasten a HEIDELBERG XL 106 AutoPlate Coating with a thickness of 1.90 mm in the
document clamping bar and hang in the machine (Fig. 4). You will need a locking pin to
clamp the base plate in the document clamping bar. The locking pin is included with the
machine.
• Insert the locking pin into the bore hole and open all of the clamping cams up to
the limit stop.
• Push the base plate up to the limit stop in the document clamping bar.
• Close all of the clamping cams with the locking pin (Fig. 3).
