Error messages and malfunctions

Messages appear in the display for several errors and malfunctions; causes and corrective
measures for these and other faults are listed below.

for a zero point calibration

Value below or above measure-
ment range for this sample
The temperature sensor of the
thermostat control is faulty
The display is faulty
Possible cause
Cable not plugged in properly,
fuse blown
Internal battery dead
Prism faulty
Display contrast is set to mini-
mum or maximum
Measure
First clean the prism and then
calibrate
First add the sample
(Press Reset , if you wish to
abort the measurement)
Remove protection as appropri-
ate (select Method , see Section
7.2)
