Glucose solution (example)

– Prepare a 10% glucose solution.
– Add approx. 0.2 mL to the prism using a polyethylene pipette and stir carefully; the sample
must cover the entire surface of the prism. The refractive index is shown, the temperature
has not yet been reached.
– Press the Meas. key:

a: Each result is stored and can be changed with the "Recalculation" function, printed out
again with the "Statistics" function and viewed with the "Delete data" function (see Sections
8.2, 8.3 and 8.5).
b: The Calib. key is locked if you measure a sample, the Meas. key is locked when you
perform a calibration. If you press the Calib. key or the Reset key during a calibration, this
will be aborted.
c: For solutions with a relatively high viscosity, we advise adding the sample using a plastic
spatula or spoon.
