9. Operation of the Transmitter

In the operating instructions, the numbers in the text always refer to the figure opposite or the figures within
the section. Cross-references to other figures will be indicated by the corresponding figure number.
a) Aligning the Transmitter Aerial
Angle the transmitter's aerial (see figure 3, item 1) to the side, so that the aerial is at a 90° angle to the connection line
remote control/model. This is how you will achieve best signal transmission. Avoid directing the tip of the transmitter
aerial directly at the model.

b) Inserting the Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries

The transmitter is supplied with power by 8 AA alkaline batteries (e.g. Conrad item no.: 652507, pack of 4, order 2) or
rechargeable batteries. For ecological and also for economical reasons it is recommended to use rechargeable batter-
ies, since they can be recharged. To insert the batteries or rechargeable batteries, proceed as follows:
The battery compartment lid (1) is on the back of the trans-
mitter. Press the corrugated area (2) and push off the lid
downwards.
Now insert 8 batteries or rechargeable batteries into the
battery compartment. Observe the correct polarity of the in-
dividual cells. The polarity is indicated (3) at the bottom of
the battery compartment.
Then slide the lid of the battery compartment back on from
the bottom until the locking mechanism engages.

c) Charging the Rechargeable Batteries for the Transmitter

For operation with rechargeable batteries you can connect
a charging cable (not included in the supply) to the charging
socket (1) and charge the rechargeable batteries in the trans-
mitter when the transmitter is switched off.
Always make sure the polarity of the connecting plug is cor-
rect. The inner contact of the charging socket must be con-
nected to the plus terminal (+) and the outer contact to the
minus terminal (-) of the charger.
The charging current should correspond to approximately
1/10 of the capacity value of the inserted rechargeable bat-
teries.
